This is page 8 of 10 of a how-to on how to build an outlet/relay module. The main project page is here.
This step can be considered optional. I am very paranoid when I work with 120VAC, so I like to play it very safe. As a preventative measure, I chose to insulate all the connection points inside the electrical box. I did this by applying hot glue over each of the 5 pins on the relay and the 2 pins on the terminal block. That way, should something manage to come loose and get knocked around, it shouldn't be able to come in contact with any metal that is connected to anything outside the box.
Wrap the stripped part of the shorter wire from the power cord around one of the 2 screws on the middle-left side of the outlet and screw it down. Wrap the stripped part of the 5-inch wire around one of the 2 screws on the right side of the outlet and screw it down. Wrap the stripped part of the wire from the ground pin to the screw on the bottom-left side of the outlet.
All that's left now is to attach the outlet to the box and screw the face plate onto the box. That should do it.
